INTRODUCTION

• Platelet-rich plasma has been used in many medical fieldlike orthopaedics, dentistry, reconstructive surgery, now in popular in clinical cosmetology for skin , wound healing, melasma, pigmentation hair growth, scalp rejuvenation,

• It is a nonsurgical cosmetic medicine treatment which includes multiple microinjections of prp into the mesodermal layer of the skin.

• Prp grows new collagen when injected into the skin ,it works very well tool for antiaging

• Various method of prp bufft coat method ,plasma separator method

Components

within prp are the theoretical basis for its use in tissue repair

• The efficacy of certain growth factors and concentrations of the same found

release of the below mentioned factors from alpha granules .

• The prp is activated by addition of thrombin and calcium chloride induces the

• The growth factors and other cytokines presents in prp includes the following • Transforming growth factors beta

• Platelet derived growth factor • Fibroblast growth factor

• Insulin like growth factors

• Vascular endothelial growth factor • Interlukin 8

• Connective tissue growth factor

PREPARATION OF ACTIVATED PRP

• In last couple of years ,there have been two prp preparation methods apporoved by the US. FDA

• Both process involves the collection patient blood that is anticoagulates by citrate dextrose before undergoing two stages of centrifuging designed to separate the prp from platelet poor plasma and red blood cells

• In humans the typical baseline blood platelet count is apprometely 200000 per microliter, therapeutic prp concentration the platelets by roughly five fold.

• The growth in platerich count differs depending on technology and procedure variations

PROCEDURE

• Clean the face with cleanser according to skin type • Pictures to be taken be before and after for record

• Withdraw about 10 ml blood ,place the blood in sterile prp tubes

• After putting blood in vial containing ACDA/sodium citrate, start centrifugation procedure for 5 min1000 at frequency 1000 rpm and then turn for 3000 rpm for next 15 min

• After centrifuging separate the plasma and put in another sterile tube • The entire plasma is injected with insulin syringes.

INDICATIONS

• Facial rejuvenation

• Acne scars and contours defects • Anti ageing

• Wrinkles –face neck hands

• Nasolabial grooves dark circles and eye bags • Stretch marks

• Hair regeration and restoration

CONTRAINDICATION

• H/O OF heavy smoking, drug and alcohol use • Platelet dysfunction syndrome

• Thrombocytopenia

• Hypofibrinogenemia

• Hemodynamic instability

• Metabolic and systemic disorder

POST PROCEDURE MANAGEMENT

• Antibiotics if required

• Topical antibiotics and steroids for 5 days • Frequent cold compress for 24 hrs

• Physical strenuous activities to be restricted for 24 hr • Avoid direct sunlight for a week

• Apply sunscreen in addition physical sun protection by scraf

• Post procedure HA acid serum add skin hydration and better serum

SCHEDULE

• Every month atleast 5session depending upon the concern • Maintainance prp:every 6 month or year

CONCLUSION

• PRP has been in practice for no.of years however its full of potential is yet to be explored in aesthetics cosmetology being autologous product prp is relatively safe for use however strignant safety and sterility protocols for the handling of blood products should be adhered tp prevent contamination .Caution tobe observed,if more than one patient are receiving treatment simultaneously.
